A HUG for Publicity and Self Promotion

We've been talking about getting promotion for your book or business using news events of good causes.

Some people ask "Where do you find the time?".. and I say take your inspiration from Juan Mann

Free Hugs Campaign

Watch the video and you'll feel much better today.

A group on Facebook have formed that can give you an even better chance to promote this good cause. Sept. 10th is Hug Day and thousands of Facebook Friends are participating.

So here's you easy promotional to do list

1. Post a comment here to say you will give hugs (and anything else you're doing to promote) Be sure to include a link to your post, facebook page, book web site or home page (just one is best)

2. Make sure you're on Facebook. There are over 1 million new users a week.. some of them have to be looking for you. Add me as a Facebook friend then join the event there.

3. Tell your mailing list, your family, your friends, your readers about it. You'll likely get some hugs, start you own mini-movement.. but even if you don't, you'll get some good publicity.

4. Take a photo of you giving someone a hug. Post it on the Facebook event page.

Does it work?

If you are doubting it.. you haven't watched the video above.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you on this. I'll accept hugs.. or a link back to this post.

Hey, Warren, you can get a hug from me any time--though if it's in the next few weeks, it has to be the site without the broken arm.

One of the first books I reviewed for my Principled Profit book review column was "Hug Your Customers" by Jack Mitchell--totally manifests extreme customer service.

Hi Warren,

The video made me cry so now I have to promote it!!! Not so much for the publicity but to forward the inspiration to touch as many lives as possible. It's so beautiful!

I'm committed to sharing the hugs on Sept 10...I'll start with my family, including my dog, two cats, goat, two donkeys, and four horses...even the semi-wild mustang we're taming!

Sending you a virtual hug!

Warmly,

Tracy 'PowerGal' Monteforte

Let's hear it for HUGS!!! I'm happy to give *tons* of free hugs any day... and will give even more on September 10th!

BTW, always hug left side to left side, e.g. heart to heart. They've measured auras and studies show we exchange more energy that way!!

Sending you a great big cyber hug, Warren, you big cuddle-monster! LOL

Cheers,

Hey Warren,

Thanks much for sharing this story via your email blast! I got tears in my eyes and forwarded the link to the Web site via email to all of my personal contacts.
My aunt told me she really liked it, and her son that is a 22-year-old cop decided to make that song his MySpace song for his page, because he liked it so much!
So amazing and encouraging when people decide to flip their circumstances into something creative and self-actualized like he did!
I just added the campaign to my Facebook also.

Cheers,
Cecelia

Hey Warren,

Great story, thanx for pumping up the volume on it! First heard about this through Ken McArthur's Impact Factor blog, there's some good additional info there. I've posted that link on my Facebook profile, along with one back to yours, to the Free Hugs site, and Wikipedia. Add me and check it out!
